The SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy is designed to teach students the necessary skills and knowledge required to become a professional beauty therapist.

Beauty Therapy Course Information
During this comprehensive course you will learn a wide range of relevant beauty therapy skills, including:

Once you’ve successfully completed your SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy you’ll be fully qualified to take on a variety of different roles within the beauty therapy industry, including salon manager, spa therapist, massage therapist, cosmetic sales consultant, or you could even set up your own salon if you like the idea of being your own boss.
Beauty therapy is ideal if you’re drawn towards flexible work and thanks to beauty treatments increasingly being considered less of a treat and more of a necessity for many people, qualified beauty therapists are in high demand.
Obtaining this qualification allows you to apply for full professional membership to the Association of Professional Aestheticians of Australia (APAA). Membership to APAA brings numerous benefits and also indicates that you adhere to a strict code of ethics.
*Promisingly, employment for beauty therapists grew by 22.3% in the two years to November 2014 and is expected to grow very steadily throughout 2017.

Our fantastic, purpose-built facilities in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, provide modern, spacious classrooms equipped with top-of-the range professional beauty tools and equipment. Students will be required to purchase a student kit refer to fee schedules.
We believe that the best way to learn beauty therapy skills is by actually doing beauty therapy firsthand, with hands-on practical experience.
We want to make it easy for you to develop the required practical skills and confidence required to flourish within the beauty industry, which is why we’ve created a tranquil environment that reflects a workplace setting.
As per the training package, this qualification has no prerequisites.
In order to qualify for this course, you will be required to complete a pre-training review and either successfully complete an online Language Literacy and Numeracy (LL&N) test or be able to provide valid evidence of Year 12 completion.
Students under the age of 18 are required to attend an interview with parent/guardian prior to the acceptance of their enrolment. Parents are required to co-sign the enrolment documentation.

To make sure that you are industry-ready by the time you graduate, we have designed this course to ensure you gain the right balance of theoretical knowledge with the necessary practical skills. You can choose to study either part-time or full-time and to make sure you have enough time to practice the skills that you are picking up, it will run for up to 63 weeks including work placement.
We schedule in School Holidays and Public Holidays to give you a break throughout your course so the length of the course will increase depending on how many of these breaks fall throughout your studies.
No matter how much experience you gain in the classroom, it is still not the same as what you will learn on the job. To further develop the knowledge and practical skills that you will develop on campus, you will also complete 45 hours of work placement in a variety of salon environments to get a feel for what it is really like to work in the Beauty industry.

Credit Transfer (CT)
Pragmatic Training recognises Qualifications and Statement of Attainments issued by another RTO (Registered Training Organisation), AQF authorised issuing organisation such as University, or authenticated VET transcripts issued by the Registrar.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL assessed on a case by case basis, so it is only available on application. Students will be charged per unit of competency at the cost equal to the tuition fee of the unit(s) of competency.

On completion of your SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy, you may wish to proceed to a degree level qualification, such as Bachelor of Health Science (Dermal Therapies).
